Fishing in Victoria on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Saltwater Salmon & Halibut Fishing

We fish a wide variety of places depending on the season and what type of fish we are fishing for. Just a few of our destinations are the Victoria waterfront, Constance banks, Oak Bay, Haro strait, Juan de fuca strait, Sooke, Otter point, Sheringham point, Port Renfrew, Nit Nat Lake, Swiftsure Banks. Long story short, "We go where the fish are".

Our guides have been fishing local waters for over 20 years and knows all the "Hot spots".

Victoria waters offer a very mild climate year round, which also provides for excellent year round fishing. With our beautiful summers and mild winters there are excellent fishing opportunities all year.

Our quality sport fishing boats allow us to hit all the hot spots until we find the fish. (Although we've got a pretty good idea where to start looking.

Victoria Sooke waters offer excellent year round fishing. With great Salmon and Halibut opportunities so close to home it allows us to spend more time in the fishing grounds. During the winter months we usually fish Victoria waters and during the summer months we usually fish Sooke waters.

Otter Point is another fishing experience that promises to please. When the fish start stacking up here put on the fighting belt, "Limiting out" is not uncommon with lots of fish over 30 pounds coming in. Once again there is a certain window of opportunity within a 2-3 week period when fishing is unbelievable. With the added distance we have to travel for this trip we like to allow at least 5-6 hours so we can spend adequate time in the fishing grounds. As we travel a long way from home, this trip is weather permitting.

Port Renfrew offers fishing opportunities that most can only dream of. We fish Port Renfrew for May through October. The fish gather at the mouth of Nit Nat Lake where it opens into the ocean as they ready to go up to the river to spawn.

This is one of the most exciting fishing experiences Vancouver Island has to offer.  A typical fishing day could include a trip offshore to Swiftsure Banks for some world class Halibut and bottom fishing and then wrapping up it up with some trolling or cut-plugging for Chinooks.

Early Port Renfrew trips in May and June consist mostly of halibut and bottom fishing only. Later October trips consist of some of the best coho fishing on the coast. Both early and late season fishing excursions are available at a reduced rates. Call today to book.
Chinooks known as Spring Salmon in Canada, and King Salmon in the U.S. range typically in the 3-60 pound range with Chinooks over 30 pounds being called Tyees.

In the late summer months, Chinooks (Kings) typically weigh-in anywhere from 10-60 pounds with plenty of Tyees in the 30's and 40's. Once you've tied into one of these monsters you'll be hooked. The fight is incredible and all that fresh fish is nice too.

In Winter months the Winter Springs are plentiful. They typically range in the 5-20 pound range. Although they are smaller than the summer fish they are still great fighters and are excellent eating.

Halibut fishing is good pretty much March through December depending on tides. These fish range typically in the 40 -100 pound range with the occasional monster tipping the scales as high as 200+ pounds.

Lingcod fishing is available June through September and bottom fishing is good pretty much all year round.
